Did anyone read “The Total Money Makeover,” by Dave Ramsey?
Filed under Personal FinanceJun 23MountainChick asked:
How is it? Will it give my parents a basic understanding of personal finances? Does it give sound advice, or is it BS?

Make Money with Cost Per Action Clicks
I have and go by it every day!! It is wonderful. I often send people there who are asking about financial help.
It will greatly help mom and dad. It did us. We now own our house, NO MORTGAGE, we have 2 cars, NO PAYMENTS and only the every month bills that we can handle quite well.
It is NOT BS, it is sound financial advise. If they choose to follow the advice, the budgets, the steps to get there, they can be out of debt and happy.

YEP – my husband and I have paid off $24K in debt since April ‘07. We still have about $39K to go!
This month I didn’t make a commission and in the past we had to pay our utilities on credit cards – not this month – I made no commission and we are able to pay all of our bills and our small emergency fund handled the $400 repair on the refrigerator.
How can paying off your bills and buying only what you can afford be BS?

I read it, then started listening to his radio talk show, then became a coordinator for our Church. I spent 4 hours every Sunday afternoon teaching others the basics that Dave Ramsey teaches. It was fun and easy and I paid off a lot of debt.
I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Read it, follow it and getting out of debt!
He is a no nonsense advice and better yet a PLAN. He lays out the plan, why you do certain things in certain order and why you don’t do other things. The great thing is it also gives you the advice in laymen terms- no huge financial terms or concepts that make your brain go numb.It is not BS. It has worked for hundred of thousands of people.
