Why don’t you call someone out of the phonebook and ask questions? If they can’t help you maybe they can refer you to someone who can.

Most poor people can’t afford accountants.You could try to find someone through a local college to help you. Most of them offer classes in money management.

Maybe go down to the closest 4 year college and find a senior in accounting. Someone in school is much more likely to charge you less, especially because you’ll both benefit from it since he needs real world practice and experience.

tell them you are looking for someone to help you design a monthly budget and savings plan…..they should be able to help you or refer you to someone. A personal financial planner might be good as well. An accountant is likely going to charge about 150 per hour.

Accounts work and get paid. If your finances are complicated enough that you need an accountant (I have one) then you can afford to pay them.
There are no social services programs that pay accountants to handle peoples money for them.
I am not rich either, but I believe that my accountant is one of my best friends. He keeps my bills paid and makes sure my tax returns are very shiny and can pass any audit. I am fairly certain I would have less dough and less credit if it were not for him.
I certainly pay him, he is worth every penny. I even bring him pastries when we have meetings.

You can google some inexpensive bookkeepers or accountants. I think I saw one in ebay and its about $22 per hour. You can always negotiate your price.
Money management is not that hard. You will just pay attention to your cash flow and be sure it wont exceed your cash outflow. Timing is a very important factor in money management.
